DIALux is free of charge and can be downloaded in many languages. Click to download the Eaton's Crouse-Hinds series plugin. The DIALux software comes without any luminaire (photometric) data.

This data (called a “ plugin”) must be installed separately. The Eaton's Crouse-Hinds series plugin includes the complete photometric database of Eaton's Crouse-Hinds series, CEAG and Pauluhn brands of lighting products. NOTE: Users who have already downloaded and installed any DIALux program only need to install the Eaton's Crouse-Hinds series plugin. Our plugin will work with either DIALux 4 or DIALux EVO lighting software programs.

Read our Privacy and Security Policy to learn more. My Account: Update Card Unsubscribe. For the regular functioning of Drafty we use Google Drive's file system. When you sign in with Google you grant Drafty permissions to read/write to your drive. Upon first sign-in Drafty will make a folder called 'Drafty' where all project files are written to and read from. This is the extent to which we access your file system.

If you are do not want to grant us these permissions you may continue as a gues user but certain functions, like saving and printing, will not be accessible to you. Read more about this and our logging practices in our Privacy Policy. Proceed as Guest User While we support Safari, we strongly encourage you to use the Chrome Browser. We’d love to let you log in, but so far Drafty is fully tested only on Chrome and Safari. Support for Firefox is coming soon.

If you don't mind, please fire up Chrome or Safari and use that until we work out our minor browser-compatability issues. What is Drafty?. Drafty is a CAD tool. It combines the precision of CAD with the ease of hand drafting. All of Drafty's symbols and tools by default create drawings that are based on industry (USITT/ABTT) standard practices. Drafty is unique in that it automates and simplifies tasks that are essential, but secondary, to communicating the important information in a plot. Drafty takes care of layer management, generates and updates a key as you draft, creates a database that updates automatically and simultaneously as you draw, and more.

Traditional drafting programs offer a dizzying suite of tools when only a tiny fraction of them are used in the generation of a typical plot. This excess of options leads to work slowdowns, confusion, layer mismanagement, and overly complex drawings for all but the hardest core of power users. For the rest of us, who just want to get our paperwork out the door quickly, being freed from endless palettes, tools, layers, classes, sheets, viewports, and myriad other complexities is a relief. The simplicity of Drafty lets you focus on your craft, not the tool. For a list of known bugs click here.

(More coming soon). What does Drafty's paperwork look like?. with took less than an hour to make. Properly formattted Channel Hookups and Instrument Schedules are generated with a single button click. Can I export my patch? We currently support Patch Export formatted for ETC Eos Family, Grand MA, Chamsys, and more.

Theater Lighting Design Software

I use SoftSymbols ™, do you offer them?. SoftSymbols for Drafty by FieldTemplate are offered for individual purchase. We currently have the ETC, USITT, Altman, Strand, Martin, Clay Paky, & Vari.Lite libraries with more coming soon. How about us Sound Designers?. We have partnered with the good folks at Team Sound, makers of the Go Box MIDI controller for QLab, to deliver high quality audio symbols available for purchase within the program.

Why so few buttons?. Our automated tools and workflows reduce the number of controls you are required to manage, keeping focus on your design. Can Drafty import files from other CAD programs?. We currently support PDF import. Most CAD programs provide a “Viewer” tool in case you need to make small edits to a native file or generate a PDF. We are working on DXF import.

Why is Drafty a web app?. The agility and power of web technologies is the cutting edge of software and we find that an exciting place to be. That being said, we would love to create desktop and tablet versions for all platforms where there is demand. Can Drafty work off-line?. Once the program is loaded into your browser window, it is fully operational off-line with the exception of cloud-storage and print.

You can work without an internet connection as long as you like. With our.drafty Import/Export features it can work just like a Desktop app switching between multiple files. Can Drafty generate Hookups and Instrument Schedules? In one easy click. Drafty Pro ships with an integrated Database Manager providing a complete spreadsheet view of your show with Instrument and Color totals updating in real time. Access can easily be granted to electricians and other collaborators with cloud-based file sharing. How does file sharing work?.

One of the benefits of using Google log-in is access to all the file sharing tools in Drive. Just navigate to your Drafty folder and share files with collaborators. They should then move that file from 'Shared with me' into their Drafty folder. Note, that while you can both edit the same file we do not officially support simultaneous editing.

So be careful that each user has all the data before signout or shutdown of their workstation. Click for a list of Best Practices for collaborative file sharing. What's with the name?. We think it's awesome. Why only Chrome and Safari?. Drafty is a sophisticated tool in its own right, and even more so by the standards of a web application. As such we need browsers that support the most cutting edge technologies that we are using under the hood.

We have plans for Firefox support, but if IE is your defualt you will need to download another browser. Why can't I log-in?. Drafty makes extensive use of Javascript tools. As such you need to have Javascript enabled on your browser AND ensure that any pop-up blockers are turned OFF. This is true not only for the log-in process but for the general functioning of the program.

OMG I didn't mean to delete Everything!! What do I do?. Because Drafty utilizes Google Drive, you have access to all the version controls that Drive provides. Head over to our to learn more. I don't write in English, can I use Drafty?.

For now we only have full support for Latin based alphabets. We are rolling out support in other alphabets and scripts on an as needed basis. Drafty's UI currently supports English, German, Spanish, and Korean. If you have a request for additional language support please contact our suport team. Does Drafty do 3D?. Well, YES and no. 3D is just complex math, trigonometry and the like.

Drafty employs some very clever algorythms to accomplish sophisticated 3D calcultations for the Smart Section, Auto-Worksheeting, Projector Screen Tool, and more. What Drafty does not have is a 3D GUI. We believe the drafting experience is improved by focusing on the output drafting plates rather than spending time spinning around 3D views. How much does Drafty cost?. Drafty is available in monthly and annual subscriptions for individual users. See our for details. For institutional site licenses please contact our sales department through the Feedback button on the Drafting Table.

Who made this?. Lucas Krech and Mark Maxham. Lucas is a Lighting and Video designer with nearly 20 years of CAD drafting experience and design work that has been seen everywhere from the basements of art galleries to internationally acclaimed Opera houses. Mark is a software engineer with over 20 years experience and more than a dozen software patents to his name. Embedded images in PDFs. Our PDF handler is awesome for vector graphics and paperwork generated by other CAD programs.

However, if you are looking to import a scenic drawing that is really a JPEG or PNG of a scan wrapped up in a PDF you may have import issues. Multiple Tabs. We suggest only having one plot open at a time and when you need to bring up a new file use the Open button. Also, be sure to close any tabs with Database Manager prior to opening different files in order to mitigate any risk of data loss. Desktop Sync.

If you use Google's Desktop Sync you ought to turn it OFF during your Drafty session as it can cause saving issues. VPNs. While primarily an issue with poor connectivity coupled with a VPN, we suggest turning OFF your VPN during a Drafty session. We have been unable to test beyond a very limited sample set and for the timebeing suggest this for all users. Saving Issues. Drafty can only save to your drive if you are logged in to a single Google account.

Being logged in to multiple accounts will return 'Still connecting to Drive' and will not resolve until all additional accounts are logged out. Likewise, several Javascript and ad blockers will block the connection to Drive while trying to save. If you encounter saving issues be sure to log-out of any additional accounts and turn off your JS/Ad blockers. Please note that some blockers will require some amount of time after turn off, if not a full restart of the browser, for all changes to take effect. A note on Safari. While not as bad as Internet Explorer, Safari has a number of very peculiar special cases that we are working on.

We are in the process of tracking down and fixing this but strongly encourage you to use Chrome. Financial Security The Drafty team is very concerned about the security of your financial data. For this reason we have adopted the API to handle all financial transactions. What this means is that when you click the subscribe button, your data is sent directly to the Stripe servers, so we never see your credit card information.

Rather, Stripe sends us a token indicating a successful transaction along with your email address. In practical terms this means that even if our site gets hacked to the ground, your financial information is safe. If you would like to read more about Stripe's security measures head on over to their and take a look. We feel confident entrusting our security and yours to the Stripe team.

Log-In Security For similar reasons, we are using Google OAuth 2.0 for our log-in. Like with your credit card, we never see your password. All we get is your Google ID and a confirmation token that you entered the correct data. A hacker would need to hack Google itself to obtain your password. Drafty's cloud storage system utilizes Google Drive's file system. As such when you sign in you grant Drafty permissions to read/write to your drive.

Upon first sign-in Drafty will make a folder called 'Drafty' where all project files are written to and read from. This is the extent to which we access your file system. Data Retention The combination of these two technologies means that there is no way to connect your username and password with your credit card information while using Drafty. We do store your username and email in order to ensure your ability to use our services.

This small amount of data retention is wholly disconnected from both your password and your financial data. For the purposes of debugging and tech support Drafty does track and log user activity within the application. File names and actions using our tools are logged. We collect basic information like location, browser type, and OS. If you would like to have this information deleted from our servers please contact our support team via the in-app 'Feedback' button. The collection of emails as part of the web service shall never intentionally be made available to third parties, including but not limited to, Drafty's vendor partners.

We retain email addresses solely for the pruposes of important communication between us and our users. We will never sell, license, or otherwise distribute our email lists for commercial purposes. We hope this makes you feel taken care of. It sure allows us to sleep well at night.
