a Quad Core, 3.0 GHz or faster processor,. 16-20 GB of RAM,. a high-performance, DirectX 11-capable video card with at least 4 GB of on-board, dedicated VRAM. Other Notes X-Plane depends most heavily on single thread CPU performance, but it will also take advantage of multiple cores or distinct processors—4 are recommended.

16 GB of RAM is usually adequate, but 20 GB may be needed for the most complex custom scenery packages. Likewise, highly detailed custom scenery can use as much as 4 GB of VRAM at the maximum settings.

In order to use the full version of X-Plane, Disc 1 of the installation DVDs must be in your disc drive when launching the simulator. (This is not the case when using X-Plane for Professional Use or the Digital Download Edition; in that case, the USB key or Product Key replaces the Disc 1 DVD.) When running X-Plane on Linux, please note that you must install the proprietary or drivers. X-Plane will not run using Gallium or Mesa open-source drivers.

Note: X-Plane 10 does not support PowerPC-based Macs, or versions of OS X prior to 10.6.8. Purchasing Hardware for X-Plane If you are looking for hardware (joysticks, pedals, yokes, etc.) to use with X-Plane, or a good machine to run X-Plane, please visit.

If you are not sure which joysticks to get, which computer to buy, and so on, we recommend going to Digital Edge for that hardware. Everything you get there will have been selected by Laminar Research employees to work perfectly with X-Plane.

I am having a similar issue to this thread - -with my flight simulator 'X-Plane' by Laminar Research. Prior to this update, it works great. In fact, there are many who block this update because it has such a hard hit on this simulator. It will take us from a great 60 frames per second to a 3 frames per second rate in which renders the simulator inoperable. I tried all the suggested tips exactly as stated in that previous thread but it still doesnt work. Hi Kyle, as per the info, I suggest that you open the View Installed Updates page uninstall the update and then use the tool provided in the link below to block the update in question from re-installing. Hope this helps Regards Please reference the attached image. When I double click on all the updates, it allows me to uninstall all of them except: 15.017.20053 and (one in question)- KB3176936. Hello Vanessa The problem is the recommended fix does not work. In fact the update in question cannot even be uninstalled in the normal manner.

The update in question which seems ti be causing the main problems which Microsoft have identified is KB3176936 Microsoft actually released a further update version of this update in an attempt to patch the problem but that doesnt appear to have worked. Whilst we might be small in number we can be quite vocal and at the moment Microsoft does not appear to be really helping or taking this seriously. Wycliffe Barrett ps please do noty respond with 'try the widget' to reitterate I have tried it, it doesn't work.
